Hi... First of all I have to say I have manually checked and replaced the md5sum for the .tar.gz in the files/ directory (it was ok anyway)

I'm getting this error when updating mysql:

Quote:
>>> Updating Portage cache: 100%

* IMPORTANT: 15 config files in /etc need updating.
* Type emerge --help config to learn how to update config files.

* An update to portage is available. It is _highly_ recommended
* that you update portage now, before any other packages are updated.
* Please do so and then update ALL of your configuration files.

Any clue?

Having the exact same problem here. Just installed Gentoo on the system this morning.

I tried removing the portage folder and doing an emerge sync again, but no joy.

I've managed to get it to work by emerging sandbox after it started telling me there was a problem with sandbox binary...
