I came across a game called KartingRace on LinuxGames earlier (http://steinware.dk/downloads.php?title=KartingRace).
It looks really cool... nice OpenGL graphics, carting around tracks
The thing is, when I run it, it's REALLY slow... unbelievably slow, given that I can run Quake3 at 1280x1024 with no probs. |

can't get it to run too, there are missing dynamic libs libstdc++.so.5 ,
libgcc_s.so.1. That's the joy of binary software compiled on an unknown distrib...

libGLU.so.1 => /usr/lib/libGLU.so.1 (0x40071000)

libXext.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.so.6 (0x40246000)
libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0x40256000)
libfmod-3.61.so => /usr/lib/libfmod-3.61.so (0x402a7000)
libstdc++.so.5 => /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.2.1/libstdc++.so.5 (0x40332000)
libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x403ff000)
libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x40422000)
libgcc_s.so.1 => /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.2.1/libgcc_s.so.1 (0x4054f000)
libGLcore.so.1 => /usr/lib/libGLcore.so.1 (0x40557000)
libartsc.so.0 => /usr/kde/3/lib/libartsc.so.0 (0x408f2000)
libesd.so.0 => /usr/lib/libesd.so.0 (0x408f8000)
libaudiofile.so.0 => /usr/lib/libaudiofile.so.0 (0x40900000)
libvga.so.1 => /usr/lib/libvga.so.1 (0x40928000)
/lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x40000000)
It's just GCC 3.2.1 in my example - not sure why you don't have GCC (properly?) installed! |

I use gcc 2.95 and I don't have libgcc_s.so nor libstdc++.so.5 in
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/2.95.3/
so i believe the program whas compiled with gcc 3.2 and it will not work with gcc 2.95 ? |

It was ok... but the kart kept on jerking all over the place, making it unplayable.
It's no Racer, that's for sure. _________________ Want Free games?
