Hi,

I would like to have kmail import GPG keys automatically. I have checked the "Automatically import keys and certificates" on the configure / security / reading tab, but I cannot find a place to specify a keyserver. I am also running kgpg in my tray, it has a keyserver specified and the relevant keys are indeed there.

Any suggestions? I have very little experience with GPG and encryption.

I use the latest stable version of KDE: Kmail 1.7.2 under KDE 3.3.2.

/Jakob

Start kgpg and configure the servers you want.

Kgpg is running, it has the servers configured, but apparently kmail does not talk to kgpg :?

Sorry schiotz, totally overlooked the one sentence. It works fine for me, do you have a backend selected in KMail's preferences configure/security/crypto module tab?

I have GpgME, with OpenPGP (gpg) selected. The S/MIME option is greyed out.

I think kmail should use the options from ~/.gnupg/gpg.conf
so that's the file that should have the keyserver to use.

I haven't tried it in kmail only in knode though, but it worked there so should do the same in kmail.

I have a keyserver defined. This is becoming more and more mysterious....

Could it be that once kmail has been unable to find a given key, it will not try again even if it receives new mails with the same key?
Perhaps somebody with a key on the server could send a signed test mail to schiotz at fysik dot dtu dot dk ?

Code:
~>grep -v '^#' ~/.gnupg/gpg.conf | uniq

default-key  1919DD93

default-recipient-self

force-v3-sigs

escape-from-lines

lock-once

keyserver  hkp://wwwkeys.eu.pgp.net
