Hi
I just finished installing 1.4_rc2. When I issue the "w" or "top" commands as root, I can see all users logged in. When I do so under a user account, with "w" I do not see any individual user statistics, and with "top" I can only get processes for that particular user.
I imagine this is some type of security feature, but how can I undo that?
Thanks

Never heard of that one before. When running "top", try pressing "u" and "return". This will make sure top shows all processes of all users. |

this is a kernel feature i think... _________________ To an engineer the glass is neither half full, nor half empty - it is just twice as big as it needs to be. |

Right you are ... there's an option in the kernel for Grsecurity, and if it is set to medium (or high) it restricts access to /proc
It's working now. Thanks
