|First of all thank you for reading this posting.
I downloaded FC4-i386-DVD.iso and SHA1SUM and verified that the image was indeed downloaded correctly.
I used k3b and choose DAO as the burning option and used the usual speed setting. The burn completed and k3b reported success. I used md5sum against the image and against the drive with the media in.
|sha1sum *DVD.iso && cat SHA1SUM | grep DVD |
No match. If you boot the FC4 dvd and choose to verify the media it fails as expected (after all the md5sums doesn't match).
So I decided to try using growisofs manually as there are other examples on this board.
|growisofs -dvd-compat -speed=2 -Z /dev/sr0=FC4-i386-DVD.iso |
Still no go.
The difference is that by using k3b it passed the -dvd-compat option to growisofs
Ideas anyone? I create dvds all the time of data that I backup and have no trouble accessing it, but I rarely burn dvd images.
