Run Levels

Does anyone know where the rc*.d run level directories (if they exist) are? I am trying to install VMWare workstation and it is asking for those directories.

Gentoo's initialization scripts run a bit differently then other distros. The scripts themselves are located in /etc/init.d/. I haven't set up VMWare so I don't know if this is the exact directory you need. For more information on this check out the Gentoo rc-scripts Guide (this is a very helpful document).

There's also an ebuild for vmware that (I believe) helps with the install process.
