Hello,

It has frustrated me for a long time. I keep the pace of ati-drivers in the portage and it works fine
except on the startup. When I startx, the screen is very very dark, very hard to see anything. Then I
start a term with great effort, and run fireglcontrol, and click "TV out" tag, then it's ok!

BTW, In the "Information" tag, "Card Name" shows "unknown". My vedio card is radeon 9550.

Best

Xue

Hi!

Sounds weird. Maybe you can try the open source radeon driver that comes with xorg? In case you don't need 3d accell there should be no downside.
Make a backup of your xorg.conf! ;)

How about attaching it so we can have a look?

Cheers

mic

I just emerged modular xorg several days, and found it supports fglrx in USE. Do this
mean I can use fglrx as the Driver in xorg.conf?
