I recently posted this question to the newbies list:
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=2936&sid=1fa091e7dc168aa72f2c10675bb06cd5
with regards to installing from the gentoo-i686-1.1a.iso.
I decided to try the gentoo-ix86-1.1a.iso which proceded to let me install gentoo.
It would appear too me that the gentoo-i686-1.1a.iso may possibly need a fix for some people too install from it.
FYI
Cheers

hmm, the only idea i would have is that you dont have an i686 archirtecture (PIII or above IIRC). I have used that .iso with no problems before. _________________ Face it, we are all noobs.
On the box it said it was designed for Win XP or better, so why won't it work with Linux? |

Moved from Bugs to Installing Gentoo. Problem is with installing from the CD. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |
