Alright here's the deal

CPU: Athlon XP 1800+
Mobo: ECS K7S5A
Graphics:GeForce2 MX400

After getting the system installed with rc2, I can't get x started because it says that it can't load glx. I emerged nvidia-kernel and nvidia-glx and nothing. I did the opengl-nvidia thing and still no luck. I tried getting the latest version or nvidia but it says I need MTRR in the kernel. I enable MTRR and recompile, copy kernel and then try to remerge the nvidia drivers but it says that it can't find MTRR. So I double check and its in the kernel and I recompile again and I still can't get it to emerge the nvidia drivers.

If anybody knows whats wrong I would truly appreciate it.

Try taking a look at http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/nvidia_tsg.xml... I have an ati card so I didn't have to worry about all those nasty problems with nvidia's closed source drivers =P

Yea, a small mistake I made after I compiled my kernel was making a /boot directory on my root partition and putting my bzImage there =]
