anyone have an idea as to why nitro was wiggin' out? I'm running cko now, and it seems fine, it just doesn't work under the latest nitro.

Kernel compiles nicely and runs smoothly, but for some reason my ALPS touchpad is messed up. The sensitivity is all out of whack, and tap to click no longer works. Is there some new ALPS or Synaptics patch that is messing things up?

just to add a "me too" to this one. tap to click does work, but it's more like "push firmly in the upper half to click"

Any other solutions for getting the keyboard to work? My bios doesn't have legacy support as an option...

By the way, nvidia does work with NvAGP=1, at least for me. I remember seeing someone else mention this, maybe in the previous nitro threads. We'll see if it works with new nitros (rc5 released yesterday).

Hi guys,
well, I'm just asking if its of general interest.

I wrote a small script for syncing /usr/local/portage, maybe someone wanna have a look here:
http://wiki.erazor-zone.de/doku.php?id=wiki:projects:linux:gentoo

The nitro-sources are included too.

I'm updating stuff there regularly.

Comments?

with this kernel, i cannot eneble DMA on my drives. has anyone else run into this problem?

Code:
CONFIG_GENERIC_ISA_DMA=y
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDEDMA_PCI=y
# CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDEDMA_FORCED is not set
CONFIG_IDEDMA_PCI_AUTO=y
# CONFIG_IDEDMA_ONLYDISK is not set
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDEDMA=y
# CONFIG_IDEDMA_IVB is not set
CONFIG_IDEDMA_AUTO=y

these are the options i have set in the kernel. i was previously using linux-2.6.10-gentoo-r6 (gentoo-dev-sources), where i did not have this problem.

What "drives" ? what indicates that you cannot enable DMA?

Be specific pls.

Okey hope it will work better in next realese then :) jzono1: does painkiller work in linux without cedega?

I don't know, as I just stick to cedega when it comes to games under linux. Better performance and less bother from my experiences. Painkiller runs flawlessly with the latest cedega here, the only things lacking are the nicest shaders, but there's no visual difference. The later cedega betas don't really make a difference, painkiller has been running nice under cedega for years.

Wine might be worth a shot, painkiller is based on the ut2 engine, with a slighly modified d3d renderer and nice physics.
