Tried to emerge analog today and it bombed out reporting:
* libgd is missing jpeg support. Please add
* 'jpeg' to your USE flags, and re-emerge libgd.
Now 'jpeg' always was in my USE flags, and when I emerge search for libgd the nearest I see is libgda, am I missing something?!

Check to see that "jpeg" is in your USE flags in /etc/make.conf, then your can use the "--newuse" flag in emerge to see what changes there is. A command such as this: | Code: | | # emerge --newuse -vp world |grep '+jpeg\* |
Will print you off a list of the packages the wasn't compiled wth 'jpeg' but have 'jpeg' now set and need to be recompiled. The '--newuse' flag simply prints a list of all packages in which your use flags have changed since and that it will recompile adjust accordingly. it puts an * next to any changes, that grep command merely looks for '+jpeg*' which show the addition of the 'jpeg' use flag since origional compilation.

I'll have a look at that a bit later, remember though that the jpeg flag has always been in my make.conf from the very start.
I picked analog as it was the first one I came across, but I see there is also awstats & webalizer. Are there any preferences for which is better?

I've hear good things about awstats, I think it's what I'm going to switch to.
