Kids today.... GET OFF MY LAWN WITH YOUR SENSE MAKING

I knew it would happen eventually, and I know why it should be this way... but... I have to admit, after 10 years it makes me sad...

Code:
# emerge sync
Calculating dependencies... done!

emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "sync".

Now off to write a bash script to fix this... I am sure I don't need a package that is actually named sync...

I know... but I started before they changed it, but they continued to support the old syntax for years. Now I have to remap my brain after years of emerge syncing and then laughing at the warning about deprecated syntax.

Hi uglyman,
Code:
eix-sync
will do the same and also will update the binary cache of your local portage-trees.

Good tip. I will look into it. I still prefer my deprecated nonsensical syntax.

Code:
pmaint sync
