...but I can't find an answer yet on any FAQ or document. Can someone tell me how often packages in the package database are updated? I'm currently doing a test build of gentoo on my spare PC to see how it holds up, and I notice I'm getting version 1.08 of evolution despite having had the rather superior 1.2 on my main machine (currently RH until this test install goes to plan) for several months.
Is this just because nothing happens unless someone places a "new ebuild" bug report/request and no-one has done so yet? In which case I'll place one right away.
TIA. _________________ Matt.

Evolution 1.2 has been available for gentoo for a long time, but just marked unstable ( with KEYWORDS="~x86" ). I've installed it, and it's running just fine.
There's been quite a lot of masked ebuilds stacking up lately, take a look at the first issue of the newletter for more information.
I just hope Gentoo won't be the victim of some 'Debian syndrom'. _________________ #include "pictures.h" |
