I was tryin to install gentoo on my ultrasparc 10 ...
I'm tryin the boot cd method but im not quite sure how to make a boot cd ?

is there a 1.4 rc2 iso image ?
i found "stage1-sparc64-1.4_rc2.tbz2" in the 1.4 directory ... i expanded that fully and burnt it to a cd using nero .... but everytime i try to use "boot cdrom" ... it refuses to boot using the cd ....
something about a bad magic number in the disk label ?
I figure either im not burning the cd correctly or not getting the correct image ..

there is an older 1.1ar2 iso image ... do i need to use that to boot ?

Thanks for your help

I used the 1.1a iso to start from
http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo/releases/build/1.1a/gentoo-sparc-1.1a-r2.iso

and went from there and continued from there.

once you get to the wget part of the install, grab the file you're trying to burn.

hope this helps you out.
