For all users with PCI cards and Builtin Ethernet, and USB devices that are reporting wierd IRQ's causing the cards not to funtion on all SiS 648 motherboards. Includeing but not limited to Abit SR7-8x, Asus P4S8X motherboards.

Sis 648 Motherboards do not function correctly with 2.4 kernels that have APIC *Advanced Programmable Interupt Controller* enabled.

When you build your kernel, do not enable APIC or IO-APIC.
I have heard that apic=off in your boot config for grub or lilo works, however, I was unable to get this methoid to work. Just don't include it.
