I'm wondering if this is hardware or software... but after my computer boots the console into 1024x768 framebuffer... I reboot it using the *VERY* same settings... and it will hang everytime until I turn off framebuffering alltogther. Any ideas? _________________ "It's ok, they might have guns but we have flowers." - Perpetual Victim

What kind of framebuffer are you using? If you look in your kernel under
Device drivers > Graphics Support > Vesa Graphics Support
What option does it show there? Is it vesafb or vesa-tng? Also what graphics card are you using and what options do you pass to the kernel at boot? Just to make sure I understand your problem your frame buffer works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't? And you get no display at all if you turn it off? |

vesafb.... I think it's fixed though.... used the "noapic" in the kernel parameters and it seemed to fix a lot of problems. _________________ "It's ok, they might have guns but we have flowers." - Perpetual Victim |
