Hi there,

I'm lucky enough to have a (older, slower) sun blade 1000. However, I'm still using the kernel from the livecd. I built a kernel and booted, but it would complain about a lack of serial devices; is it complaining about the PROM Console option that is chosen by default?

I don't want to have to rebiuld my kernel and find that it's not this and that its something else.

Cany anyone else link to a working kernel config?

I'm using 2.4.27 as well, I would much prefer to use 2.6.

SMP 2.6 if you can, if not 2.4 would be fine.

I am going to try 2.6.10_rc3 ;) I'm brave.

2.6.10r3 seems to work!

Admittedly I don't intend to do X on it (its a server, ish) but I've been playing around with it for a few hours, compiling stuff and playing with LVM2 on my sixpack, and its all good!

No strange errors, or crashes, boots fine ... SMP is working with no hitches ....

Yay :)

where the sb1000 is an USIII machine, how is the linux support on it?
I've got one (single 750mhz, but a 2nd CPU is in the mail) and would love to get linux going on it.

Have the creator3d drivers been improved any?
Vauge chance of sound under 2.6.x ? Or should I "send patches" ;-)

How about the fibre-channel controller? Is it supported?
