wine/winex question

Ok I never used wine before so I am completly new to this. So I emerged both wine and winex looked at the default config files and they looked good atleast to my unexperienced eye. I tested wine out on MP3doctor (no perticular reason for this program except to test it) the installer came up and ran fine. I changed to the directory were it installed it and tried running the exe and it just exited me back to the prompt without running the program or giving me any sort of error message. Reapeated the process with winex and got the same results. I then repeated theh process with yet another program thinking maybe Mp3doctor just couldnt be ran with wine and got the same results again.

Any suggestions or help would greatly be appreciated.
