Hi, every so often the connection to my LAN stops working; no traffic can be sent or received. If "I /etc/init.d/net.eth0 restart" it works fine again. It usually stops working when under heavy load. I am running gentoo-dev-sources 2.6.10-r4 with "DECchip Tulip (dc2114x) PCI support" compiled into it. I have an ECS K7S5A motherboard.

This is what I found in /var/log/messages:
Code:

Jan 29 11:27:21 DESKTOP eth0: Setting full-duplex based on MII#1 link partner capability of 41e1.
Jan 29 11:27:25 DESKTOP NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out

Here is the relevant output from "lspci -vv":

Is this likely to be a hardware problem?

I have the same problem with a tulip nic on an nforce2 an35n ultra shuttle board. Running 2.6.10-gentoo-r7 and
lspci -v gives:
Code:

0000:01:04.0 Ethernet controller: Digital Equipment Corporation DECchip 21142/43 (rev 41)
Subsystem: Kingston Technologies: Unknown device 0001
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 16
        I/O ports at c000
        Memory at dc000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=1K]

Other hardware in the box: 32mb 8500le, bt878 tvcard, sblive value digital (also happened with ens1370), antec 480 true power, smybios 825 scsi ctlr, wd120gb.

If anyone finds a solution, please post - been having the same problem with the last few kernels I've tried.
