|
|
Hi again guys,
Just curious how people are "POP"ing their mailboxes or some strategies to possibly POP their mailboxes in order to access their Hotmail and/or Yahoo from their local computer and still retain copies of their messages on separate servers. The issue is that I use multiple mail clients and I would like one solution (if possible without configuring a local IMAP server, but if need be I will do that). I am using hotwayd and fetchyahoo for the time being to accomplish those means of fetching my Hotmail/Yahoo mail. I also have Gmail that I could forward messages onto, but that is still somewhat of a pain. |

I dont think that hotmail offers POP access unless you are using Outlook. I know GMail does though, because I use mine through pop.gmail.com in Evoulution and Thuderbird. _________________ Registered Linux User #365191 |

That link didn't work for me.

Hotwayd and the like are about your only real options.

I already use hotwayd. I was looking for a solution that didn't require deleting the messages on the server. Sorry for not making that point more explicit.
Turns out I found a solution for the deleting email in my Inbox problem in Thunderbird by clicking on Account Properties -> selecting my Hotmail account -> Server Settings -> check Leave Messages on Server.
This will suffice until I found out how to do my junkmail in Hotmail properly and implement email forwarding using dovecot and my gmail address. |
