Hi.
I just emerged my system now and I use ALSA.
I edited the file /etc/modules.d/alsa to suit my needs and I also edited /etc/devfsd.conf because I use devfsd with the new device names. The problem is the following:
When the system boots, the ALSA modules are loaded. But, when I look at /dev/sound, there ain't any *dsp device, only midi-related devices. However, I enabled all the OSS-related stuff in the files I mentioned earlier. I even tried to use devfsd togheter with PAM but it caused other weird problems.
So now I have to manually load the snd-pcm-oss and snd-mixer-oss modules. If I put them in /etc/modules.autoload, I get error messages during bootup.
Can you help me please? _________________ holyshit.org :
