|
|
I have been trying to get smbmount to work, but nothings been working. I searched on here a little bit, and found that first I should check to see if I can actually ping the windows box I want to smb mount.
# ping 192.168.0.101
doesn't return anything, so I just need help opening a connection through the firewall on my router. Its a D-link DI-604.
I've done it before. i've been able to ping that(my brothers windows box) computer when I set up an FTP server for us to share files through, but it was a while ago, and I can't remember what I did.
can anyone help??? _________________ --Hamking |

dude,
1st: are you al in the same subnet? meaning: what is your IP and what's your brother's IP?
try having both PC's getting their IP from the internal DHCP server, this will probably be the easiest way to achieve this.
2nd: check for the MAC filters and IP filters. _________________ /steven
