|
Hi all,
I'm trying to install Sun's jini on my amd64x2 gentoo. When I run the installer I get the following error message:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
aaj04pat jini2_1 # ./jini2_1.bin
Preparing to install...
Extracting the installation resources from the installer archive...
Configuring the installer for this system's environment...
No Java virtual machine could be found from your PATH
environment variable. You must install a VM prior to
running this program.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
when I run java-check-environment it tells me all's sane:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
aaj04pat jini2_1 # java-check-environment

What do I do to get around this? Thanks |

Same problem with MagicDraw. As a temporary fix:
Code: |
$ export PATH=$PATH:/etc/java-config-2/current-system-vm:/etc/java-config-2/current-system-vm/bin
$ ./your_installer_name
|
Once installed the software runs for me without any modifications. |
