Anyone have any luck emerging redhat-artwork? I have both gnome and kde set up as use options in my make.conf as I would like to actually use both of them (switching back and forth). Could this be causing the problem for me? If you want, I can get the exact error for you once my current emerges are done (koffice, openoffice, dos emu, snes emu, and nes emu).

You running a release candidate of KDE 3.1? I can't get redhat-artwork to compile againt that myself...

Anyone try the version of redhat-artwork from the new 8.1 beta, which includes the latest RC of KDE 3.1.

I can't compile redhat-artwork against qt3.1.x. I downgraded to 3.0.5 and then emerged it fine. However, when I tried upgrading again to 3.1.x it would break again. The themes still work fine with gtk/gtk2.

As I'm a Gentoo newbie, how would I go about downgrading qt to 3.0.5?

Find out first what version of qt you have installed.

emerge -s qt

If you want to downgrade just

emerge /usr/portage/x11-libs/qt/qt3.x.x.ebuild

You can always emerge -p clean and verify that it wants to remove the 3.1.x version.

Note that when you emerge -p world it will always want to upgrade.

Also you might want to try some of the ebuilds/fixes posted on bugs.gentoo.org. None of them worked for me though.

if emerge -p clean doesn't want to remove qt 3.1.0 i can do it manually by using an emerge unmerg /usr/portage/x11-libs/qt/qt3.1.0.ebuild right?
