Hi there,

yesterday i installed the new gentoo stage 3 1.4rc2. Worked together with the docu, everything fine. Until the first boot.
I got that error saying: mount failed with error: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on tmpfs or too many mounted filesystems.

tmpfs supprt is build into my kernel (ck sources) and /mnt/.init.d exists, so whats goin on ?

greets
mike

Post us a copy of /etc/fstab and /etc/inittab

Also, you could try debugging in the meantime, in /etc/init.d/checkroot there are a series of mount commands - try emebdding some "echo" commands around them to see what the offending command is.
