I've just started to change my Gentoo 1.2 install over to the unstable tree (~x86) and I ran into a problem when upgrading ttmkfdir to version 3.0.4. The problem was that emerge couldn't find the file. The two locations that it tried were:
http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo/distfiles/ttmkfdir-3.0.4.tar.bz2
and
http://www.gentoo.org/~azarah/ttmkfdir-3.0.4.tar.bz2

I did some searching on where the user pages for the developers were and discovered that many were on http://cvs.gentoo.org/~username/, so I managed to find the .tar.bz2 of ttmkfdir at this location: http://cvs.gentoo.org/~azarah/ttmkfdir-3.0.4.tar.bz2

I then moved it to /usr/portage/distfiles/ and ran emerge again. It worked wonderfully.

Just thought I'd share this little problem and solution with everyone.

Thanks, a few people were looking for this file in the gnome 2.1.5 thread:

I'm also not getting the file. I guess my attempt to try out the unstable tree has been halted for now :-)

The updated ebuild didn't make to the rsync servers yet. I've tried some of them, without success. If you are in a hurry, you can download the file to your /usr/portage/distfiles

May it persists untill tomorrow, I'll reopen the bug.

I've manually downloaded the file, and placed it in the distfiles directory. It is building fine now. I hope the mirrors get the change soon :)
