Hi guys,
I run gkrellm and I noticed that my swap file doesn't seem to ever do anything. It never gets used. Is there a setting or a tweak to get it to work or should I just let it be?
In fact if there are other "tweaks" that exist somewhere on a site, I would love to hear of them. I an not a real tecnie person, but Gentoo has taught me to love to tweak.
Thanks

Why would you ever want it to be used if its not needed? You've most likely used Windows too much and haven't yet understood how much more effective Linux handles memory... _________________ Gentoo Hardened Linux 2.6.21 + svorak (Swedish dvorak) |

Generally it's a good thing if your system isn't swapping a lot. You may want to read this though. _________________ The free market gave me gonorrhea.

This is what I was hoping and half expecting to hear.
Thanks, I will attempt to have my formers windows memories wiped from my mind. Therapy can be costly though.
Thanks
Any tweaks I should know about or a site that talks about Gentoo tweaks?
