It is the second time I try to put Gentoo on my Sun Netra T1.
I reboot and got this :
Netra T1 200 (UltraSPARC-IIe 500MHz), No Keyboard
OpenBoot 4.0, 512 MB memory installed, Serial #51575641.
Ethernet address 0:3:ba:12:fb:59, Host ID: 8312fb59.
Executing last command: boot
Boot device: disk File and args:
SILO Version 1.4.9
boot:
Allocated 8 Megs of memory at 0x40000000 for kernel
Cannot find /boot/kernel-2.4.29 (Unknown ext2 error)
Image not found.... try again
boot:
What did I do wrong ? Thanks for any advice before I retry. |

Basically SILO is already telling you the exact error, it cannot find the kernel image you specified in your configuration file.
Make sure that if you are using a seperate boot partition that;
* silo.conf lives on that boot partition
* You ran the silo command with the -C argument
* That the "/boot/kernel-2.4.29" path is valid if your /boot was actually mounted as /

I specified kernel 2.4.31 because I saw it being built as 2.4.31. Or should I have left it as 2.4.29 ?
Is there a howto for Netra T1 somewhere, either in English, French, German or Russian ?

Netra T1 boot process is no different than any other SPARC64 host.
The kernel version doesn't matter with regards to the file name or anything in the SILO.conf |
