|
|
Hi, I've just finished installing gentoo, I am trying to configure my network card to start up as a module, but this fails on boot.
My card is a Intel 8255x and I can't find a module for it, the install guide says to Quote: | Check /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/net for your
card |
The only file in this directory is dummy.o where can I get a module for my card
Thanks

You probably want the eepro100 driver. I think there are two drivers for this card: one with the stock kernel, and one from Intel. I don't use Intel NIC's, so I can't be more specific, but searching the forums for "eepro100" should probably dredge up some threads. In any case, you will have to enable this driver during your kernel configuration (the "make menuconfig" step). I recommend not messing with modules for NICs, and just compiling the driver directly into your kernel (setting it to [*]). _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |
