This is ok -- it's actually included in ckdev :D

Just a note though, don't enable CONFIG_IOPRIO_WRITE (fair write io scheduling), as it's currently broken.

Currently compiled and running ok :) Thanks again for the patchset.

y0zza: I don't use the whole ckdev patch; just most of it. And if you read the first post, you'd see that I already know about the CONFIG_IOPRIO_WRITE issue. :wink:

Ah yes, another case of my selective vision doing weird things :lol:

It seems that the cfq-ts is applied though -- I tried patching with cfq-ts-041230.patch, but it appears to be in there already AFAICS.

Hrmm. I guess that means it's included in the ck additions to cfq now. Saves me trouble, so I'm all for it!

Has anyone gotten ivtv_rc3 running with this? The fix at https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=1771880#1771880 no longer works, the kernel has an oops when you load the modules.
I'm using 2.6.10-cko1, but the fix used to work for that too, so I'm assuming that they share a common patch that causes this.

UT2k4 runs pretty well, even tough I reinstalled nvidia-glx and opengl-updated.

In my dmesg I see this::
Code:
ioctl32(wine:13827): Unknown cmd fd(19) cmd(c0384642){00} arg(55bffcfc) on /dev/nvidiactl

does it looks suspicious, I can say that it is not specifically related to this kernel, because it also happens on my backup ck kernel...

if anybody knows, please drop a word... :)

I've just run make menuconfig on the ebuild linked in the opening post of this thread, because i want to dabble with reiser4, & i didn't encounter a CONFIG-option for it...

Ebuild is nitro-sources-2.6.10-r2, patch is patch-2.6.10-nitro2.bz2.

And yes, /usr/src/linux is linked correctly. Can anyone tell me what i've missed?

I'm in taipan's boat. But if I turn off 4k stacks, I won't be able to load the nvidia module I thought?

4k stacks is not required by anything. You'll be fine.

make && make modules_install error-message:

Code:
drivers/block/floppy.c: In function `init_module':
drivers/block/floppy.c:4598: error: syntax error before "UTS_RELEASE"
make[2]: *** [drivers/block/floppy.o] Error 1
make[1]: *** [drivers/block] Error 2
make: *** [drivers] Error 2

And the pertinent function in floppy.c:

Code:
int init_module(void)
{
   printk(KERN_INFO "inserting floppy driver for " UTS_RELEASE "\n");

   if (floppy)
      parse_floppy_cfg_string(floppy);
   return floppy_init();
}

My C is really rusty - can anyone see anything that needs modification?

Yes, you need to either forgo floppy support altogether, or compile it built into the kernel, not as a module. It's a bug that got mentioned some posts back.

add "#include <linux/version.h>" in drivers/block/floppy.c after the inclusion of workqueue.h to get the floppy driver working as a module
This is a "bug" since -bk2

for some reason someone removed my post.
the nitro2 patch is buggy and gives errors when making modules for the block device.

Have you tried again? There is no problem with the site and, according to my logs, I've had no errors regarding people trying to access the patches and ebuilds (except people trying to browse the directory).

You can't browse the directories, you have to use the direct links from the first post.

If you are still getting problems then let me know.

Thanks.

No one removed your post (only the admins can do that and they have far better things to do than randomly remove posts) - it is exactly where you left it:

here

If you want help, do try and give people a chance. However, I am sure you get the idea from the replies to your 'missing' post.
