Just in case someone has seen something somewhere...
Is there _any_ way to preload Konqueror, in KDE? I mean...in Windows, the reason why IE loads so quickly is because its preloaded...otherwise its not that much faster than Konq...
That would make things so much more convenient, to have a nice file manager that loads almost instantly...
Any way to do that? |

I haven't tried it but try
kstart --window konqueror --alldesktops --skiptaskbar /usr/kde/3.1/bin/konqueror
and just minimize Konqueror. It will save it open and do it every time you start up. It won't be in the taskbar, and you can open more than one instance from the K menu or whatever without problem. _________________ "And I'm right. It's an undocumented feature of new cvs builds, and I gather it will be in KDE 3.1.
See:
http://members.shaw.ca/dkite/dec20.html and scroll down about 3/4 down. It has to be turned on by modifiying the right rc file with the right mystical parameter. |
