Brand new to Gentoo on Sparc. Installed on an ancient Netra T1. After rebooting, I'm trying to "emerge --usepkg vim" with the following result:
make[2]: Entering directory `/var/tmp/portage/vim-core-6.3-r2/work/vim63/src/xxd'
gcc -O2 -pipe -mcpu=ultrasparc -DUNIX -o xxd xxd.c
make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/vim-core-6.3-r2/work/vim63/src/xxd'
make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/vim-core-6.3-r2/work/vim63/src'
--------------------------- ACCESS VIOLATION SUMMARY ---------------------------
LOG FILE = "/tmp/sandbox-app-editors_-_vim-core-6.3-r2-2463.log"
chmod: /dev/tts/0
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The log file has just that one line in it. I was able to successfully emerge vi (without the m). Is this happening because of the sandbox? _________________ Guy Rouillier |

What happens if you do:
FEATURES="-sandbox" emerge vim ???
