I had re-install my system with the patches ....gentoo-r10 .
Before I used the patches...gentoo-r9 and I was succesfuly install ALSA and get sound working .The sound is compiled as Module in the kernel.
But now there are some problem .
My installation process is
Code: |
#env ALSA_CARDS='intel8x0' emerge alsa-driver
|
Modification of the /etc/modules.s/alsa , as refer to the Alsa installation guide
Check the /etc/devfsd.conf
Code: |
#update-modules
#rc-update add alsasound default
#/etc/init.d/alsasound start
|
Everything run with no errors .
But when I check the lsmod
there are nothing in the list refer to the alsa modules
and when
Code: |
#modprobe snd-intel8x0
|
there are the following errors
Code: | /lib/modules/2.4.19-gentoo-r10/kernel/sound/acore/snd.o: unresolved symbol register_sound_special_Rsmp_6ff451ec |
Code: | /lib/modules/2.4.19-gentoo-r10/kernel/sound/acore/snd.o: unresolved symbol register_sound_special_Rsmp_99c95fa5 |
Code: | /lib/modules/2.4.19-gentoo-r10/kernel/sound/acore/snd.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.19-gentoo-r10/kernel/sound/acore/snd.o failed |
Code: | /lib/modules/2.4.19-gentoo-r10/kernel/sound/acore/snd.o: insmod snd-intel8x0 failed |
Have you some ideas to fix this ? |

Finaly I use the driver from Alsa-project (0.9.0rc6) rather than the gentoo package . |
