Red root prompt on su

Is there a way to get gentoo to re- source /etc/profile when I "su", so my red root prompt comes up?

You can put "source/etc/profile" in root's .bashrc .

That's what I do and it works perfectly.

if you want to do stuff as root, then use rtn's way: "/bin/su -". Just "/bin/su" will give your current user root access while a "/bin/su -" will login as root.
