Hello,

I've run into base profile settings.
The thing is the base profile sets RUBY_TARGETS variable (and PYTHON_TARGETS, but it doesn't bother me so much as I need python anyvay  ). Rubby is useless for me, but if I emerge any package which reflects to ruby targets, it bloats my system with multiple versioins of language and supporting packages.

One view is the ebuilds for ruby dependant packages are faulty, and if there is not a "ruby" USE flag set, it should not emerge ruby language no matter ruby targets defined.

On the other hand, as those ebuilds are as they are, putting bloatware directly into base profile seems bit unappropriate and against philosophy of the build system.

Could someone with insight catch me up with rationale for such? Othervise I feel a revision of base profile may be way to go.
