Hi There,

I have a dual 246 Tyan Tiger K8W, recently built, and I'd like to know what my options are with respect to CPU fan control, and CPU frequency scaling/throttling.

So far, I have not been able to find any interfaces, either in the BIOS or the acpi2 entry in sysfs, that suggest any control is possible. (I have my kernel compiled with all the relevant support.)

If you've had success with any of these issues, please feel free to drop a line. I'm looking to slow the processors down while idle and, as a consequence or explicitly, slow the fans as well.

cheers..

i have the s2875 with dual 240. as far as i know there is no possibility to control fan speed / cpu speed. amd says opterons with power now! will arrive early 2005. also the opteron fans are temp controlled. i can read out the temp /speed but never had any option of controlling them.
