|
|
There's a lot of helpful scripts on these forums, so I figured it would be a good idea to make a collection of them. If you know of others that should be included, go ahead and post them. I'll add them to the list. If there are several scripts doing the same job, I'd prefer to link only the best one/the one with the most features.
DE/WM:
Openbox:Wallpaper menu generator
Openbox: GNU Screen controller
Openbox: MPD controller
Fluxbox: Wallpaper menu generator, including preview icons
Fluxbox: Process list in the menu (Needs fluxbox [include] to work, doesn't in some versions. Seems to work in 0.9.11)
Gnome desktop random colorizer
Portage (aslo have a look at [1]):
Search packages by USE-flags (It's in german, and I don't fully understand it, but I think 'flagusers mysql' will return all ebuilds using the mysql use flag)
Emerge times estimator
Find injected packages (einjected in [1] is probably a better choice)
Stale distfiles remover
Miscellaneous:
Screenshot taker and ftp auto-uploader
Filesystem cruft cleaner
ACPI: Power button handler
ACPI: Events handler
Other pages:
[1]Portage utilities not in portage
PS: I posted this in Gentoo Chat because it's about usage, not programming in itself. This is where people who needs to see it will see it.
PPS: Any chance of making this sticky? _________________ PKA Cuber

AFAIK genlop can do the same.
Mhm, looking at the script, I'm afraid it might miss some injected packages. einjected from [1] is an alternative (yeah, I'm biased, I wrote it ). [1] contains a lot of scripts for portage.

That's not a script, right? A small handy script might be preferrable to many people, since genlop can do so much more.

You're probably right about einjected. Does it have a forum topic of it's own to link to? _________________ PKA Cuber
