I have a dell inspiron 8000 with 256MB of PC100. I get decent performance, but there are times when there's alot of disk access due to swap usage. I want to upgrade to PC133 512MB (max laptop supports).

-Do I need re-emerge anything due to a change in RAM? Any settings changes?

-Will I notice any performance difference in gentoo if I get CL3 RAM as opposed to CL2 RAM?

-How big of a difference in compilation speed will it likely make?
