MP3 stream interruption when syncing palm

Hi people!

After a hard disk replacement I had to recompile all my gentoo system. It's a good thing as I learnt much about gentoo since my previous install and it rocks

Anyway there is something strange: when I sync my palm zire 71 XMMS instantly stops streaming the radio stream I'm listening to. It happened also randomly when compiling stuffs (but now I've added portage_niceness=10 in my make.conf and it seems to have fixed the problem).

Syncing the palm always makes the system freeze for about 1second but xmms' behavior is weird.

That's not a critical problem but if someone has an idea about the reason of this, I'd like to hear it.
