I managed to break my GTK2. This happens to nearly every GTK app, I picked ROX randomly.
| Code: | (ROX-Filer:29009): Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "cleanice",
Gdk-ERROR **: The program 'ROX-Filer' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadLength (poly request too large or internal Xlib length erro'.
(Details: serial 164 error_code 16 request_code 155 minor_code 20)

Using XFree 4.2.99.3. I upgraded XFree once, then upgraded to bleeding edge Gnome, it worked fine for some time. Then suddenly, GTK2 apps stopped working. Even GDM wont start up any more. And KDE wont compile either - so cant use that. Something is very fucked up here, cant figure out what it is. Using WindowMaker, Phoenix and X-Chat 1.8.10 right now here and they seem to be working just fine, but I really dont like WindowMaker that much.
Anyone had any similar problems? |

Am having same type troubles.
Right click on window(to access cd/dvd drives)
Disks option shows I do not have any disks?
I can play both cd(in cdplayer) and dvd(mplayer)
BTW mplayer works excellent in gentoo!!!
I can not access cdroms in Nautilus directory /mnt/cdrom
shows nothing
Try to change themes in Desktop Preferences , Themes
and I get the same message in terminal window "path not found"
Also in theme applet there is no tab for window frames(gtk2 themes)
I had 2 tabs in both RH8.0 and Mandrake 9.0
Also fonts are not as attractive as in RH8.0
In control panel I try to change window managers and metacity will not die and allow me to start tvm.
I had thought maybe restarting metacity might help but so far no luck.
How do you register gentoo-stats when I am using a proxy server to get to the net?
Can somebody tell me what is wrong?
Need an idea stick to beat myself with.
Other than that my custom gentoo system is absolutely wonderful.
