Suppose I wanted to test the i8xx intel sound module, and I've added it to the kernel as a module. If I were to type modprobe i8xx, for instance, it would tell me it can't find the module. How could one find out the keyword for such a module?
Thanks!!!! _________________ "Before insulting a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, he's a mile away and without shoes." --unknown |

Ok, good to know. But my question was intended to be more general. Can such 'keywords' be found somewhere in the system, or is there a good internet resouce? _________________ "Before insulting a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, he's a mile away and without shoes." --unknown |

hey,
a simplistic method would be to;
#find /lib/modules -name *ko
will give you a list of your kernel modules and you can usually tell from their name what they are.
