I'm beefing up my gentoo python environment and I wanted to install PyGame, the python game development module. The problem is I have a gnome2 based desktop, but pygame wants to install gtk-1.2 rather than (instead of?) gtk-2.x.
For now I just turned -gnome -gtk in the USE variable and it appears to be happily installing. But is that going to work on my gnome2 desktop? I expect it will, since it will just use other libraries I guess. At least its installing, which is a lot more than could be said for the Mandrake RPMs that I tried on my last system.
Any words of caution, or encouragement, welcome.
