Trouble with winex

to start off with i'm a noob to the whole wine/winex thing so don't get mad at me for posting about something that was already posted about.

Ok I'll start with what i have and then try to explain my problem.

This is what i have done so far emerged wine winex winex-cvs2.1

Things that work are notepad and being able to install UnrealTournament

now here is my problem after i installed UT i tried to run it this is what i typed

winex /home/tanj/.winex/fake_windows/UnrealTournament/System/UnrealTournament.exe

i did this with wine winex and winex-cvs.
both winex and winex-cvs gave me a message that says
wine: Unhandled exception, starting debugger...

when i did the command with wine the debugger started up and i have no idea what to do with it. I also get a little message dialog box saying that wine was atempting to start something

PS i do know that there is a linux installer for UT and i do have that installed

also if anyone knows if there is a linux installer for Unreal 1 i'd like to know where to get it
