Is it just me, or does this really happen a lot in the last days?
Wondering,

Yup -- you're right. It does really happen a lot in the last days.
The poor server is getting overworked. We're working on a fix for the problem, but it will take time to implement. In the mean time, your continued patience is appreciated.

We have done some tuning of various parts of the forums.gentoo.org server, and are optimistic that things have improved somewhat. If anybody is still seeing "phpBB: Critical Error" like Larde posted, please post to this thread. We will be monitoring this thread to see if we've actually improved anything, or are just deluding ourselves. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |

Reporting possible evidence of the problem being "fixed" (or reduced).
I didn't receive the error, but experienced circumstances very similar to when I have. For example, long delays (over 1 minute... close to 2+?) before the forum responds. In the past, this has resulted in the "phpBB: Critical Error". After the delays, the forum responded apropriately. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |
