Hi ,
all the messages i get/send in gaim are with an incredibly small font. barely readable. and the bar when i write a message that actually has buttons on it to increase font size etc. is disabled.
can anyone help ? |

Try changing the font - it's done from the button with "ab" on it, shown when typing a message. If that button is disabled also, then - do you have any truetype fonts installed and recognized by xorg? |

One way is: open whatever graphical text editor or word processor software you have installed (or even a decent spreadsheet), and try to select a different font in it. |

get small fonts in firefox too but i can increase their size..
these are the flags i used for gaim :

Those look like the same use flags I used on gaim... can you post your system use flags? Also, have you emerged any of the font packs, like corefonts or sharefonts? |

i tried messing with it but i don't think thats the problem.
the font bar in gaim is 'grayed out'. just can't touch it. |
