I've been enjoying DVD playback on Xine for a while now. xine check says that everything is OK. The only problem is that every once in a while (maybe a couple times throughout a movie) the video get stuck. Audio continues to run, but the frames do not update. rarely, I can get through a whole movie without this happening. This happens in both fullscreen mode and in windowed mode.
The quck fix is to resize the window (to force it to rebuild the window). Sometimes. just right-clicking (to bring up the conrol) will do it.
How can I prevent this from ever happening?
I'm running Gentoo 1.2 and all the xines packages are installed.
My hardware:
CPU: Intel PIII 550MHz
video card: Asus 6600 (GeForce 2 chip)
audio: SBLive! value |

I have since noticed that this ussually occurs late in the DVD. As if it had something to do with how the DVD is being read. It perhaps is not a Xine issue. I'll try it with mplayer to see if it does the same there. |
