I recently tried doing an emerge -e kde to add CUPS support to KDE. Unfortunately, now KDEMultimedia refuses to emerge. The last few lines I get follow:
Code: | !emptydir /usr/kde/3/bin
!emptydir /usr/kde/3
!emptydir /usr/kde
!emptydir /usr
>>> Original package unmerged safely.
!!! pkg_postinst script failed; exiting. |
If anyone has any insight into this problem, it would be greatly appreciated- I've been pulling my hair our over the past few days trying to get KDE to recompile. (First it was a bad RAM module causing GCC to crash, then the ALSA bug, now this. >:( ) |

I have got the same errors:
--- !mtime obj /usr/kde/3/bin/artsbuilder
--- !mtime obj /usr/kde/3/bin/aktion
--- !empty dir /usr/kde/3/bin
--- !empty dir /usr/kde/3
--- !empty dir /usr/kde
--- !empty dir /usr
>>> original instance of package unmerged safely.
!!! pkg_postinst() script failed; exiting.
Anybody have any idea what's going wrong here? Having followed exactly the same procedure before on another installation, "emerge kde" went through all KDE packages without a blip. How come it's different this time?

I unmerged all the KDE packages, then re-emerged them. Still the same error. It's driving me crazy... |
