|
|
Ciao!
When I start X, the screen is divided in 3 sections:
| =======================|====|
|...................................................... |.......|
|...................................................... |.......|
|...................................................... |.......|
|............ A..................................... |..C..|
|...................................................... |.......|
|...................................................... |.......|
|========================|.......|
|..............B......................................|....... |
|======================= |====|
In A there is fluxbox that seems work perfectly.
In B there is the taller part of A, and in C there are many coloured vertical lines.
The mouse can't work on B and C because A is considered as the maximum size of screen.
I think there is no hardware problem because when I'm not on X all works fine.
I've re-installed Gentoo yesterday (but the problem there was also here), therefore I've the newest version of all is needed.

chiapil,
OK I didn't know you had a laptop.
Can you post the xorg startup log /var/log/Xorg.0.log please.
For a TFT, your HorizSync and VertRefresh look a bit strange.
You log will tell the story. _________________ Regards,

chiapil,
It says that its not using 1600 x 1200 then lists all the modes it is using. Its defaulting to "1280x1024". Its also taking care of your strange refresh rates (not quoted).

1600X1200 is a VESA standard mode, so it doesn't need a special mode line and should be used if your hardware is capable of it.
Have you got a typo in the Quote: | Modes "1600x1200" "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480" | line in your xorg.conf, in the "1600x1200" bit?
e.g. letter O not numeral 0.
You can also try removing (commenting out) the HorizSync and VertRefresh lines. X will ask the hardware what it can do. _________________ Regards,

I've tried to comment these lines but it's the same.
My card support 1600x1200 resolution in fact i've not a line called typo.
i've remove from kernel the vesafb settings (1600x1200) because with this problem when I launch X move between tty take a long time (about 5 sec)....
Another idea....pleaseeeeee! |
