KDE compile error during 'emerge kde'

This bug interrupts the 'emerge kde' process - I am using the latest 1.4rc1 release of Gentoo for PPC.

Could somebody please shed some light on this error message and what steps I might take to work-around it? Thanks in advance.

in the prefix you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will fail.
So, check this please and use another prefix!

I have exactly the same problem (1.4rc1 for intel).
