i just installed gentoo with the 2.6.9r1 kernel and everything seems to work fine but i can't get my pcmcia ethernet card to work. i believe i setup the kernel right because while the kernel is compiling i see the INSTALL drivers/net/pcmcia/axnet_cs.ko and i know that it is the right driver. is there any way i know that i installed the kernel right. also during boot it tells me that

Code:

cardmgr[5400]: no sockets found!

. so it might also be pcmcia problem. any help will be appreciated.
